The deadline to register for our second horse show is December 28th by 5pm.

The horse show registration form must be sent to the 4-H office prior to the date and time above!

Horse ID Card deadline- for second horse show

The deadline to turn in a horse ID card if you have a new/or leased horse and want to attend the January 12th show is December 12th,

2nd Horse Show Info

Here is the official invite for our 2nd Horse Show of the 2018-2019 year!  We have invited Cochise, Gila and Santa Cruz County 4-H members to join our show. 


2018-2019 Pinal County 4-H Horse Show #2

When:                         Saturday, January 12, 2019
Where:                       Apache Junction Rodeo Grounds, 1590 E. Lost Dutchman Blvd, Apache                                         Junction, AZ  85119    
Sat Schedule:             English (no jumping)9 AM, Western, Gymkhana (no roping)
Registration:              8am- 8:30am  
Show Start:                9am Morning Meeting, followed by English events

Senior Advanced go first, followed by Junior Advanced, Intermediates and finally Beginners. That way the Beginners can watch and learn from the more experienced members.  

REMINDER:  Mandatory helmet policy for all 4-H members anytime while on the back of a horse on the property. Per Pinal County, this policy is effective immediately. These must be approved horse helmets, bicycle helmets are not allowed.  


** All horse ID cards MUST be submitted to the 4-H office 30 days prior to a county show @email (mmelende@cals.arizona.edu)
  Must be to office by 12/12/2018 for second show if you have not sent this in prior or have a new horse.**

Horse Show Fees
  • $15 - per discipline ( english, western, gymkhana).  
  • $15 - late fee for onsite registration for PInal County members only
  • $15 - arena fee per exhibitor

Sponsorship Packets —  Each Pinal County member is required to obtain $150 in sponsorship to qualify for year end awards/buckles.   
  • Submit forms to:  Sponsorship forms are to be sent to Michelle @ email (mweese73@gmail.com)

Sponsorship Due:  Sponsor Ad's that you'd like in the second horse show program need to have artwork emailed to mweese73@gmail.com by December 28th. You may submit funds at the show.

County horse show invitation

Here is the official invite for our 1st Horse Show of the 2018-19 year!  

To continue our success, we want to remind all families that 4-H is run by all families and your help is required at every show. 

2018-19 Pinal County 4-H Horse Show #1
When:                         Saturday, November 17, 2018
Where:                       Casa Grande Rodeo Grounds, 2525 N. Pinal Avenue, Casa Grande, AZ                                             85122  Map
Sat Schedule:             Gymkhana 9 AM, English (if any), Western, No Roping
Registration:              8am- 8:30am  
Show Start:                9am Morning Meeting, followed by Gymkhana events (barrels, poles and goats)
We are assessing skill divisions during barrels so this first show will run a little slower in the morning.

Senior Advanced go first, followed by Junior Advanced, Intermediates and finally Beginners. That way the Beginners can watch and learn from the more experienced members.  

IMPORTANT: All annual 4-H enrollments MUST be completed online (https://az.4honline.com/).  No annual enrollment packets will be accepted onsite at the show.  If you are NOT enrolled via the website by 10/31 your horse show registration will NOT be accepted.

Online Enrollment now open


Online enrollment is now open for the 2018-2019 4-H year. If you already had an account please do not open a new one. You will use existing log on information. New users will create a new account.

Once you log in you will update information. Select which projects your member will take this year. You will pay the annual enrollment fee online. If you are a parent who is a certified leader, project leader, or are interested in taking the steps to become one you will also add your name under your account.

Invitation- Annual Horse Advisory Committee (HAC) meeting

Annual Pinal County HAC (Horse Advisory Committee) Meeting
Date:               Saturday, August 25th, 2018

Location:         Pinal County Cooperative Extension Office
                                                820 E. Cottonwood Lane, Bldg. C
                                                Casa Grande, AZ  85122

Time:               10:00 am to 12:00 pm, light refreshments will be served

Did you know that Arizona has a $1.6 billion horse industry? In Pinal County, we take our horsing around seriously...serious learning, serious futures in equine, serious experiences and serious fun!

 Join us for our Annual HAC (Horse Advisory Committee) to learn more about the horse projects across Pinal County and Arizona. Become involved by joining the committee as an adult or youth member. It's a great time to revamp the program into exactly what we want in Pinal County!

*The current county rules say each club planning to attend county wide shows must have at least one adult and one youth member at HAC meetings. It's a great time for a fresh start!

We have all open positions available on the board as well as youth positions.

Record Book Meeting - June 1st



We will meet at the Mult Gen Center in AJ and work on record books at 6pm. If you have done record books before please bring your prior year info to share with those who have not done this before. 

Supplies needed to bring with you: 
Printed member record, and project record pages from our blog, or 4-H website. (if in more then one project you will need to have a project record for each project)
Pens/pencils
photos for photo page (enough photos for up to 3 pages),  if you have any scrap booking supplies to help deco pages feel free to bring , 
binder/or green record book cover 
We won't be able to finish them in this one meeting but, this will definitely give them a good start. 
All members must have their record books to the 4-H office by July 2nd. They can be mailed or delivered during office hours.

Update: Summer camps, newsletter, horse show points

Hi Country Kickers,


Just wanted to let you all know that I have updated the blog with summer camp info! Tons of fun stuff going on at the county and state camps this year!

The April newsletters I forwarded to you all in an email but, also posted it on the blog under the form sections should you need to go take a peek at it again.

On the Pinal County Horse Blog I have updated all the points from the show on April 14th along with the annual points. I am so very proud of our Country Kickers this year. Way to bring it this year!

  • Adult Code of Conduct (one per parent please fax to 4-H office or bring to first horse show)  
  • Horse ID Card & Lease Agreement- one per horse, no limit per child.  You can bring to the first horse show or Fax to 4-H Office 30 days before event.  Sharing allowed within families.

Sponsor/Donor Packets — If you have not yet paid the required sponsorship fee you will  need to at this show. Reminder this year each member is required to get $150 in sponsorship by the end of the year to qualify for year end awards/buckles.  You can opt to just donate the $150 and receive a tax donation or get businesses to donate or advertise in our horse show program all year.  Please review the below sponsorship forms.  NOTE:  if you pay it now, you will only have to pay $5 per discipline entry fees

Fair Entry Deadline - March 8th

Hi 4-H Families,

If your youth member plans on making an exhibit to display at the county fair be sure you follow all the guidelines for registration, entry tags, and drop off times.




The DEADLINE for 4-H members to enter their exhibits for this Fair is Thursday, March 8, 2018.

All 4-H entries must be submitted at http://pinal4.fairmanager.com/ until midnight on March 8, 2018.

Please make sure you have printed your building tags through ShoWorks for each entry.  No tags will be printed in the 4-H Office.

J.O.L.T Camp Information

J.O.L.T. is an Arizona Teen Leadership Camp, designed by teens for teens. At J.O.L.T., there is a positive environment that promotes personal development, team building and self-confidence.

Our mission:

“To create an environment where Arizona teens can learn how to empower personal leadership, hone in on creativity, and encourage positive social change in their own community by upholding the tradition of making the best better.”

After your week long adventure at J.O.L.T., you will go back with improved leadership, trust and communication skills.
While at J.O.L.T., you'll meet the dynamic staff, participate in inspirational workshops and life changing speakers.
Meet the Planning Team- both youth and adults.
You'll also learn conflict resolution skills and relationship building skills which help to create life-long friendships that make J.O.L.T. unique from all other camps. Each participant selects a camp Involvement Committee to serve on, in order to practice and enhance his or her leadership skills.

Age Requirement:

Participants MUST be 14 by January 1, 2018 – OR – have graduated the 8th grade before the start of camp.

The registration packet forms are fillable - please type them and print. Print and send to your county extension office. Contact us for help finding your local office.
