Lost Dutchman Rodeo - Volunteers needed

I have created a signup for volunteering at the Lost Dutchman Rodeo. We have quite a few new families and you will hear us talk about this from now until February.

We have been invited to help sell rodeo tickets at the front entry gate and the grandstand entrance in February during the rodeo. We have helped out the LDD Rodeo for many years now. The LDD Rodeo committee are a bunch of fantastic folks that put this rodeo together and give back to local youth groups in Apache Junction! We are fortunate enough to be one of those groups! They have made contributions to our club over the years and that has helped us to cover expenses for club activities, purchase project supplies, club awards, and so much more!

We will need the help from everyone of our 4-H families during the rodeo weekend. The rodeo is February 25th- 27th. I have created a signup so that we can start working on filling all the time slots now! This is not a drop off event so we encourage parents to also sign up. Anyone in your family can volunteer their time to help!

We will continue to discuss more about our upcoming Community Club meetings.

Horse Project Members

 Hello Horse Families,

The horse advisory committee is begin to work on planning shows the county but I wanted to get out some very important information prior to our clubs first horse meeting.

Each horse member who participates in the shows are suggested to obtain sponsorship to help offset costs for awards. You will want to start thinking now of what business, family members, etc that will be willing to sponsor your horse member.

I have included a link below to last years sponsorship packet for you to review. Sponsorship allows for a business to be advertised in the county horse programs.

In order to be eligible for county year end awards, and the State Horse Show this is a requirement and is due December 1st, 2021.

We will discuss this more at our Nov 11th horse project meeting, however I wanted you to have a heads up about it and being looking for sponsors.

I ENCOURAGE all horse families to follow the https://pinalhorse.blogspot.com/ county horse blog to keep up on all county horse happenings!! Even check out the tab forms (rulebook) so get your self familiar with the rules.

As a member of the Pinal County 4-H Horse Project, your assistance is needed in securing sponsors AND/OR donations for our 2021-2022 Pinal County 4-H Horsemanship Program. As most of you know, we include 4-H sponsors in the advertisement section of our 4-H Horse Show Books. These sponsors provide much needed financial support and help to make it possible to conduct our many activities in the County 4-H Horsemanship Program at a minimum cost.

The Pinal County 4-H Horse Advisory Committee endorses the sponsorship program. The suggested goal for each horse member is to provide a $100.00 in sponsorship for the 1st discipline , and $25 for each additional discipline they participate in.

Donation of items and/or cash is always accepted as an alternative to a printed advertisement. This option is considered a tax deductible donation and a receipt can be provided. **NOTE: When donors receive something in exchange for advertisements, their donations may NOT be considered tax deductible.

Sponsorship/donation packets are provided in the link above. In the packet there is a sponsor/donor letter (for the contributor to keep) and a summary sheet (to be sent back to the 4-H Office) with the sponsor’s advertisement and/or tax deductible donation. Checks must be payable to PINAL COUNTY 4-H HORSE ADVISORY. Sponsors do not have to be associated with the horse industry.

Livestock Exhibitors

 Livestock Exhibitors,

If you are showing market lamb, swine, goat, and holstein calf this year I wanted to remind you of a new change in the Pinal County Junior Livestock rule book (which you can find on our blog under the tab livestock exhibitors/fair info)

You are required to show your YQCA certificate at Ear tagging for your animal species.

Lamb, goat and swine  - that date is DECEMBER 11th or 18th

Holstein Calf - that date is JANUARY 8th or 15th

Poultry- more info to come but you will need the certification so work on taking the course

Below is the website to go for the course.

http://yqca.org/

Please let me know if you have any questions. We will not be hosting a YQCA course this year at a club meeting so it's important you take this online to be able to show at fair!!

Apache Junction Light Parade

 Hello 4-H families,

I wanted to see if we have any interest in being in the Holiday Light Parade in AJ on December 4th. If I ask the kids they of course will say yes but I need a parent to handle the event for us.

Do we have a parent volunteer interested?  You would plan and organize the float, fill out entry form, coordinate members arriving. This is a great event for us to be a part of and show that we are active in the Community and help grow our club.

I am attaching the entry form to review. The deadline to enter is November 19th.  CLICK HERE

Please either text or email me if you would like to help.  480-612-5347 mweese73@gmail.com
